Love them or hate them, playing on a map made up of tiny islands can make for a different challenge compared to other types of maps!

The map consists of a rectangular set of hexagonal tiles, with sections of terrestrial land divided into continents. Random picks a random map template, such as pangaea or sandstorm, and uses it.

This mod also rebalances the game for larger map generation.

People seem to either say it picks a random pack from the available modes or it is its own thing, it creates a somewhat random map with its own algorithm, but nobody seems to actually know it and usually base their answer off their own experience. In that case, the pangaea map type is your best bet. Random changes the layout of the map (terrian, land masses, forests, desert etc) and shuffle does that in addition to changing the earths age, weather conditions and the other options that effect map construction in advanced setup. It’s quick, simple, bloody, and brutal.
